| About TamingTaming is the art of not only obtaining vast knowledge about the many creatures throughout the world but also utilizing said knowledge to tame these creatures and use them as pets. Taming is quickly and effectively bonding with a creature in a matter of seconds, or minutes, or even hours. Most creatures, mainly class 5 and class 4 creatures, will only require some cheap bonding. However, anything higher in class will require you to first weaken the creature before attempting to tame it. You may learn more about the two specialties necessary to effectively tame a creature below: - Animal Taming:
Animal Taming is your ability to tame a beast. Basically, you can not even attempt to tame a beast unless it is within your skill level. 0-25 you are able to try to tame a beast that is class 5. 26-50, you're able to try to tame a beast that is class 4. 51-75, you are able to try to tame a beast that is class 3. 76-100, you are able to try to tame a beast that is class 2 or class 1. Anything above 100 and you're able to tame beasts that are legendary class.
- Animal Lore:
Animal Lore is your understanding of beasts and creatures throughout the world. The higher your animal lore, the more you know about animals and the easier they are to tame. 1-25 animal lore allows you to know everything about class 5 beasts. 26-50 grants you full knowledge about class 4 beasts. 51-75 grants you full knowledge about class 3 beasts. 76-100 grants you full knowledge about class 2 and class 1 beasts. 101-125 grants you full knowledge about legendary beasts. If your animal lore skill grants you full knowledge of a beast you're trying to tame, and it becomes aggressive, you are able to try to tame it while it's aggressive or attempting to flee. However, if you fail a second time you must either fight it off or let it fly away depending on the results of the second roll.
The Act of TamingIn order to so much as begin to tame a creature, you must first discover one. Creatures are either presented by members of staff as mini events, presented as a large-scale event, or can be discovered by rolling the Discovery Dice in certain areas that have creatures. The creature you can choose to encounter depends on the class you roll. For example, if you roll a class 3, you can pick a creature in that area that has the potential to be a class 3. Once you've decided what creature you'll be trying to tame, roll the Tame Dice and see what your result is. We will discuss what each result actually means below: - Successfully Tamed:
Successfully taming a creature means that you may finally apply for it in the proper section to become your companion or pet. You may not role-play with the creature until it has been approved by staff.
- Failure. Aggression.:
Not only have you failed to successfully tame the creature you wished to tame but it has become aggressive. When this happens, please notify a member of staff so that they may roleplay as the beast. If a creature becomes aggressive, you must either defeat or manage to escape from it. A creature can kill you if you give it the chance. If you have high enough Animal Lore, you may roll a second time if you want a different result.
- Failure. It Fled.:
The creature you were trying to tame got scared and fled the scene. You may either roll again if your animal lore skill permits or you may stop here and give up. If you roll a second time, whatever the second roll is is what you're stuck with. So, if it tries to flee and you roll again, you might make it aggressive.
